pulaski street is the main street of the pulaski heights neighborhood of athens. the street is architecturally diverse, but most of the houses are from the turn of the century. this house dates to 1905 and was extensively renovated in the 1970's and 1990's, although it still retains many of its old architectural details. it has a gated front walk and a lovely private porch entry. the house is literally one block from downtown athens, therefore errands can be run on foot. easy access to a cinema, farmer's market, great restaurants and shops, as well as the UGA campus, make it an ideal location.

the entry hall has built-in storage along one wall and a nook for a desk by a sunny window. the hall leads back to the bath and kitchen. the house's original pine floorboards are still intact.

the sitting room is on your left when you enter the house. there is a floor-to-ceiling window to the porch. two sofas and a comfy wicker chair and tv make this room cozy.

the main bedroom is off the sitting room and can also be accessed from the hall.

there is an iron full sized bed, a dresser and a small closet, and a ceiling fan. one north-light window is in this room.

the rear room faces the treetops and currently holds a desk and chair. there is a generous closet.

the kitchen is at the rear of the house and gets wonderful morning light. an old enamel-top table is a good spot for morning coffee.

the kitchen has custom-built cabinets and open shelving and a dishwasher, fridge, toaster, and microwave.

the bath sits off the hall and has a tiled shower, a pedestal sink, WC, and a small closet.

the front porch has alot of privacy. this primitive pew is a good spot for resting.

and rocking chairs and an old porch swing and a ceiling fan make it perfect for long afternoons!

the house has an extensively gardened backyard that is shared by three households. small garden rooms and cobblestone paths lead down to a creek and large granite outcropping. established trees and shrubs give the yard plenty of shade and the garden has been featured in books (and even on tv!).
